Rewriting With Apple Intelligence Writing Tools

Now that you’ve had a taste of how Writing Tools can proofread, look at how Writing Tools can rewrite text.

Open the CoverCraft project in this lesson’s starter folder and build and run the app. Here, we’re running on an M1 MacBook Pro with macOS Sequoia 15.1 (which is still in beta as this is being recorded). We’re building to Mac - Designed for iPad, but this will also work if you build right to a newer device running iOS 18.1 or later. Once the app is up and running, select Craft Cover Letter.

Now, let your creative juices flow. Type whatever comes to mind.

Please hire me know! I wood be just perfect for the tole!

Then, highlight what you’ve written and open Writing Tools if it doesn’t appear automatically.

Choose Rewrite and behold the magic.

Notice the new options in the toolbar after the rewrite appears. You can revert to the original text, rewind a step in the rewrite history, provide positive or negative feedback to train the model, or go forward a step in the rewrite history.

Try both the positive and negative feedback options to see how they differ. Users can share feedback and include the original and transformed text after each Writing Tools operation.

So far, you’ve seen how the Writing Tools toolbar provides opportunities to proofread and rewrite text.
