Core Data: Fundamentals

Welcome back! In the last part of the course, you learned about the Core Data Stack, which is composed of the object graph, the persistent store coordinator, and the persistent store itself. You also learned how this is setup in your project via the PersistenceController class.

In this part of the course, you’ll start to put some of these concepts into practice.

First, you’ll use the entity editor to define the different entities you’ll need in the app, and define some base attributes.

Then, for a challenge, you’ll continue to customize the entity to provide all the attributes you need.

Finally, you’ll learn how to persist entities into the persistent store, so you can retrieve them later. Let’s get started!
