Open Call for Proposals: Publish a Book With Us!
Do you have a great idea for a book but aren’t sure where to start? Submit a book proposal by January 23, 2019, for the opportunity to join our book team! By Manda Frederick.
Have you ever thought, “Gosh, I have a great idea for a book that I’d love to help create, but I’m not sure where to start!”?
If so, we have a great opportunity that will help you grow your writing and editing skills, learn the publishing biz, make some money, become a subject-matter expert and get your great idea in the hands of readers.
From now until January 23, we have an open call for book proposals for our 2019 book season. If your proposal is accepted, you have a guaranteed spot on the book, in a role of your choice (either author, tech editor, or project manager).
We have just two slots left in our amazing line up for this year, and one of those books could be yours!
What Exactly Is a Book Proposal?
Some of the most successful books we’ve ever published on raywenderlich.com started with someone simply saying, “Hey! I have an idea,” and trusting us to guide them through the process.
The first step of writing a book is to write a book proposal. Basically, you fill in a short template we send you, that gives high-level information about the book you’d like to publish on raywenderlich.com. It helps us get to know you, what you’d like to cover in the book, and how this book will fit in with the overall market and our catalogue.
If your idea and our site are a good fit, we’ll work together on filling out a full team for the book, and developing a much more in-depth project plan.
Join our esteemed authors, many of whom got their start by simply sharing their idea!
But What If I’m Not the Best Writer?
That’s OK! What’s great about submitting a book proposal is that you aren’t required to be the author even if your proposal is selected. Instead, you can choose to be a technical editor, or the project manager of the book.
If you do decide to be an author, we have a strong network of editors who use written feedback, team guides and video calls to guide you through the process and mentor you to help you improve and be the best writer you can be.
And, finally, because writing a book is a big task and time commitment, most of our books are co-authored, so you won’t be alone! We’ll help find the best of the best to share the workload, keep you motivated and help develop your idea to its fullest potential.
